30 March 1813 – Battle of Stuttgart

Background to battle
 2 Austrian corps has orders to attack Stuttgart
9 and 10 French corps have orders to redeploy

Wargame
 Because the French outnumber the Austrians two to one no wargame will be fought
The result will be calculated by using Campaign Rule 09

The Austrian corps are a full days march from Stuttgart
But because 2 corps has orders to enter F05 “no mans land”
A battle must be fought

2, 3 and 4 Austrian corps advance
9 and 10 French corps redeploy

3 and 4 Austrian corps can not advance any further because of difficult terrain
2 Austrian corps comes within sight of 9 French corps, who deploy to hold Stuttgart
10 French corps prepare to advance to support 9 French corps

2 Austrian corps attacks Stuttgart
9 and 10 French corps counter attack

Conclusion
An obvious French victory
The French have lost 800 infantry
The Austrians have lost 2000 infantry

Outcome
2 Austrian corps will retreat under cover of darkness
