Major
surprise battle at Wolfenbuttel
The
French army desperately need time to rest, rally and resupply
So
they are ill prepared for the Prussian attack
Many
of the shaken and routed French brigades failed to rally
As
a result the Prussians outnumbered the French by two to one
The
battle opened with an attack by two Prussian corps
They
were quickly reinforced by the other two corps
The
French were beaten and routed from the field
At
nightfall the French were within five miles of the southern edge of the map
Next
day they would have to retreat off the map to recreate no mans land with the
Prussians
The
Prussians have achieved their objective of taking and holding Brunswick, and
defeating the French Army.
