27 April 1813 – End of Magdeburg Campaign

Blucher dominated this campaign and defeated Napoleon at Helmstedt and Eilseben.   Having failed to take Magdeburg, and running short of supplies, Napoleon ordered his army to retreat.

The Magdeburg campaign was the fifth phase in North Germany between the First French and the Prussian armies.  It lasted 6 days and there were two battles.  The Prussians won both.

The campaign started on 27 May and ended on 30 June 2016
