24 May 1813 – Central Germany – Eisenbach Campaign

The campaign opens with a French attack on Eisenbach.
The French lose and retreat to Kassel
They defeat the Russians at Meiningen
But suffer a serious defeat at Friedland
The French rally and attack Gotha, where they win a major victory
The Russians counter attack but are again defeated at Dolstadt
The battle of Meiningen ends in a draw
But the Russian army has suffered too many casualties
They abandon Gotha and Dollstadt and retreat towards Erfurt

The Eisenbach campaign was the fourth phase in Central Germany between the Second French and the Russian armies.   It lasted 13 days and there were seven battles.   The French won four, the Russians won two and there was one draw.

The campaign started on 22 September and ended on 30 November 2016
