Although
2nd British corps have won the battle of Curunna they now retreat
This
was forced on them by the arrival of 16th Italian corps
In
doing so they abandon two days supplies at Corruna
Wellington
is informed of the French offensive in the north
He
orders 1st corps to move north and join 2nd corps
3nd
and 4th corps are ordered to hold their positions
In
the north Soult orders 7th and 16th corps to advance and
secure Corunna
In
the south he orders 8th and reserve corps to advance on Lugo
7th
and 16th corps are now down to one days supplies and will have to
halt to resupply.
They
have also advanced well beyond their depots.
Soult
must now call a halt in the north and reorganise his lines of supply.
The
two days supplies captured at Corunna will help, but are not sufficient
He
orders two new depots at Robadeo and Ponferrada.
