7 November 1813 – Central Germany – Day 6

Russian 3rd and 4th corps rally and resupply at Konnern

French 5th and 6th corps rally and resupply at Halle and Landsberg
Wiedemar depot is moved to Landsberg

French 2nd and 14th corps attack 1st and 2nd Russian corps at Gerbstedt
The French combine their artillery to form a reserve again
Once more this proves very effective

On the right the Westphalians open the attack, supported by the artillery
They lose the initial cavalry melee, and are reduced to a series of infantry melee
The artillery are unable to support the attack and move to the left wing
The Westphalians finally win, but are too disordered to pursue

On the left 2nd Guard corps hold back until the fighting on the right is decided
When the artillery redeploy they move forward to attack
By then 2nd Russian corps have withdrawn and taken up a new position

The French claim a victory, but the battle is undecided
1st Russian corps may rally overnight and be able to resume next day
2nd Russian corps is largely intact, and the Russians still hold Gerbstedt
