8 March 1813 - North Germany



The French 1st and 3rd corps launch a surprise attack on Gihorn
They face 1st, 2nd and 4th Prussian corps, and are forced to retreat
They do so in order to join the rest of the French army at Brunswick
French lose 1600 infantry and 100 cavalry
Prussians lose 800 infantry

The Prussians also concentrate at Gihorn

Both armies regroup overnight and are ready to continue the battle next day
