9 March 1813 – North Spain - Burgos Campaign

Wellington won the first phase of the campaign by defeating Marshal Soult and taking the city of Valladolid

The French retreated to Burgos, where they rested, resupplied and brought up to full strength.

Wellington also received reinforcements to replace his battle casualties and supplies to prepare for the second phase of the campaign, to take the city of Burgos

The map shows the location of each corps and detachment at midnight on 9 March 1813.
