The French are forced to retreat north and abandon Almarez.

The capture of Almarez, the defeat of the French Army and the surrender of 16^th French corps leave the Spanish as the clear winner of this phase of the campaign

The Almarez campaign phase was the first phase in Southern Spain between the Fifth French and the Spanish Armies.   It lasted 16 days and there were four battles.   The French won two and the Spanish also won two.
