16 October 1813 – Rosenheim Campaign – Day 14


9th and 10th Bavarian corps forced to retreat having lost battle of Holzkirchen

2nd Austrian corps occupy Holzkirchen and capture two days supplies
3rd Austrian corps advance in pursuit of retreating Bavarians

11th and 12th Bavarian corps hold Bad Tolz
This is the only remaining Bavarian depot and holds all of their supplies
It will take a full day to remove those supplies.
1st and 4th Austrian corps attack to prevent them moving the supplies

The battle of Bad Tolz opens with 4th Austrian corps attacking the village to the south.   It starts with a cavalry melee, which the Austrians lose.   This causes panic amongst the two supporting infantry brigades, and the whole routs.

Schwartzenberg orders 1st corps to support the attack.   This results in the defeat of 12th Baden corps. 

However 11th Bavarian corps continue to hold Bad Tolz, and complete the removal of the supplies held there.

The Bavarians win the battle.
