10^th and 12^th Bavarian corps attacked in an attempt to raise the siege of Augsburg

Both corps had heavy casualties and brittle morale

3^rd Austrian corps moved to engage them

4^th Austrian corps continued the siege of Augsburg

11^th Bavarian corps attempted to break out and join the relief force

However they were defeated and forced to withdraw back to Augsburg

The attack was also defeated, and 10^th and 12^th Bavarian corps retreated in rout
