18 March 1813 - Central Germany


Tactical Map

The French have taken Kassel and forced the Russians to retreat east.

The Russian Army have suffered heavy casualties, and are out of supply.
General Wittgenstein accepts that he will require a considerable time to rest, reorganise and resupply his Army.   He orders a general retreat to Gotha.

Strategic Map

The Kassel campaign phase was the first phase in Central Germany between the Second French and Russian Armies.   It lasted 13 days and there were six battles.   The Russians won four and the French won two.

Despite this the French won the Kassel campaign phase

The Kassel phase started on 03 March and finished on 13 August 2015.
