21 June 1813 – North Germany



Napoleon must gain time for 13th Polish corps to recover from their defeat
To distract Blucher he orders 4th corps to attack Jeggau
13th corps rallies and resupplies covered by 1st corps
3rd corps observe and will retreat if attacked

Blucher is trying to reorganise his supply system
1st corps comes under attack at Jeggau
2nd and 3rd corps hold and resupply at Wolfsburg
4th corps rally and resupply.

4th French corps attack 1st Prussian corps at Jeggau
The outcome is an overwhelming victory for the French
By nightfall 1st Prussian corps has lost 2500 casualties
All four infantry brigades, plus the cavalry and gunners, are in rout
The French have lost just 400 casualties.
