3 July 1813 – Central Germany


The loss of the battle of Amstadt has left 1st Russian corps isolated
Wittgenstein orders them to abandon Erfurt and retreat east of the river
He also orders the depot at Erfurt to move with them
2nd and 3rd Russian corps have already moved east towards the river


Davout orders 5th corps to occupy Amstadt and secure the Russian depot
2nd corps advance in support and occupy the woods to the north of the town
6th corps move into Erfurt as the Russians retreat

The French now hold Erfurt, which is the campaign objective
