8 July 1813 – Central Germany

14th corps is ordered to take Weissensee and then pursue 2nd Russian corps.
The Russians have moved south to tempt the Westphalians to cross the river, they have then redeployed behind cover of a hill south of the town.
As the Westphalians move towards the town, the Russians attack.   One German division is sent to take the town, the remainder take up a defensive position just east of the bridge.   The Russians reinforce the garrison, but eventually lose the town and are forced to retreat south.  However the two brigades rout east from the town, losing contact with the corps.
