31 March 1813 - Southern Germany - Day 1

In the north 7th Bavarian army occupy Bayerbach

1st Austrian army are caught by surprise and deploy to defend Bad Fussing

 

In the centre 8th Bavarian army and 2nd Austrian army both approach Branau

Both halt within sight of the city in order to deploy

 

In the south 9th French army and 3rd Austrian army both have orders to take Eggelsberg. 

 

The battle of Eggelsberg opens with 17th French and 5th Austrian corps.

18th French and 6th Austrian corps will not arrive mid afternoon

At nightfall the both sides are still fighting for control of Eggelsberg

Both 18th French and 6th Austrian corps are still deploying

The result of the battle is a draw and fighting will continue next day
